Cooling system questions and mysteries

Thanks for the tip about units!
I will supply some readings tonight after I swap out the stat for a new MotoRad one I have in hand.
Also, I have used the irontite product Thoro-Flush and I can report that it works very well, It was able to half open a totally clogged radiator (much to my surprise) but future users reading this please follow the instructions clearly, its a very basic solution (like drano) and you dont want it in your engine for very long at all.
Also if you ever want a vacation in Victoria, come on over and we can do some doughnuts on parliament lawn.

@redwhitekat nah we can pass it off as political activism, I am a tiny bit native so pretty much an indigenous rights protest . Just because my people are on the east coast does not matter.

With new Motorad stat
So, I put in the new stat last night and can report the following;
City driving temps are 99c/210f
I wasn't able to get on the highway, but ill give it a try today.
I flushed out the heater core as best as I was able to (I dont have hose access) and it seemed to be flowing very well.
I tried to drive in 3rd gear to get to 1800 but failed in traffic (too slow this morning)
I plugged in my hawkeye and did a static rev up to 2200rpm while watching the temps, they quickly dropped down to 93c/199f in a few seconds. I will try on this highway today and see what happens.
It should be noted that I did little to remove the air pockets after the stat change thus far.
I am wondering about another flush at this point, ideas?
Thanks in advance

I’ve just filled, while squeezing the hoses to move air, let it idle up to 195F, shut off, let cool, top off reservoir, remove T plug, fill up until it runs out, crank up, let idle to 195F, and then shut it off again. Check when cold, top off reservoir if needed, and check for air at the T again & top off if needed. Besides that you should be good to go.
