Default Corrosion is a Killer-Salt Neutralization ???

For us who live in states that have large amounts of road salt dumped I ask this question.

Has anyone used any of the Salt Neutralization products on the market? I've always just used water but was wondering if the rigs could benefit from a solution rinse for neutralization?

Does anyone know if these body parts are all stelel or is aluminum used?

The chassis is steel and most body parts are aluminum.

When I lived in Vermont I always had my Rovers oiled every year. They spray the underside and drill holes in the cavities (the chassis already has holes) and oil inside them. At least that's what they used to do. EPA may not allow that anymore.

Rust-protection oil can be sprayed with the proper equipment. You just need a small compressor.

But you must do it year after year and it's pretty dirty when you work underneath. This summer I'm going to pressure-clean everything and spray 3-4 coats of rust paint. Then I'll oil the inside of the frame members.

I've used this product called Por15 over corrosion/rust in the past with great results. POR15, Inc. - Stop Rust Permanently - Repair Gas & Fuel Tanks. I'm guessing a good water wash and the time of applying this product should give me some longevity.

Automatic carwash with a full underbody wash as well as a good deep wade in fresh water.
