and just how do you plan on making the transmission shift? the kit you see is for a D1 much less sophisticated vehicle. good luck and be sure to check back in.
Because all the other people the were just going to throw a small block Chevy never did complete it.

How do you plan to run the Chevy engine and Rover tranny, the current computers for both won't work with a 4.3.

I did a little testing since the Rover is functional and can be run for a few minutes in its present condition. I removed the sensors and took it for a run down the runway (I'm at an airport), it shifts fine. I plan to use the Rover's ignition, fuel and electrical system and crank sensors.

Don't know about other peoples success or failures but I will make this work. If I run into a specific problem such as computer issues, I can deal with that too.

Already purchased the engine and went with the 4.3 v8 from a 75 Chevy Caprice. Even though this low mile engine didn't come with accessories, I'm going with the Chevy AC Compressor and alternator which are both on the right side of the engine. I will use the Rover's Pumps and leave them on the left side with a modified mount.

The Rovers radiator should be fine with electric fan(s) for cooling.

I will start a thread on it shortly and document it as I go for the benefit of others.

Default I too have a cracked block.

Any progress on the Impala swap?

I guess I will give the 5.3 LM7 truck motor a chance to live in a Rover chassis. The key to this whole swap may be the ability to successfully "trick" the Rover computer into thinking the engine is running so it will shift the transmission. SLABS will most likely still have issues also.

Its actually a Caprice 4.3 swap and I will be back to complete it in May with step by step photos. I live in Florida for the winter months and estimate it will take about 2 weeks to complete. Anyway shifting is not an issue as I have already tested it without sensors.
