Default Cracked Head

Have an 01 Disco diagnosed with a cracked head. Has anyone used any type of sealant to resolve matter or am I facing a dreaded mechanics bill?

Who says you have a cracked head?
How did they figure that out?
Did they remove the head?
What are your symptoms?

no sealant is going to help a cracked head. find a auto parts store that has loaner tools, they will have a compression tester. get a compression reading on all cylinders.

new head. check here and discoweb and d-90
someone will have something for you pretty cheap. do both of them and new gaskets and new bolts. I could do it in a day. If you take your time and follow directions and stay organized you can handle it. Any old buddy that has experience in old cars would be helpful. Our engines are basically old school.

Man, I never thought about it until I saw those prices. If you're doing a head gasket job and valve job you're almost better off spending the $500 to put brand new heads on since valves are included. Food for thought for the future.

Just so you know, new heads are closer to $800 plus a piece and yest, the heads from Roverlandparts.com are used and guarented.
