Default Crankshaft Position Sensor - TestBook Required?

Rave states that if the CPS or flywheel is removed, the adaptive values will have to be reset by TestBook.

Does anyone know if this is true? I've removed the flywheel on a previous motor and didn't seem to have any problems. I'm replacing my current engine with a junkyard engine. The junkyard cut the wire on the CPS, so I'll have to either solder a connector on, or replace the entire CPS with the one off my old engine. But the whole TestBook thing has me worried.

No, you can do both without testbook.

Good news. Is the TestBook reference just because a check engine code could be generated?

You should be fine. The flywheel is just going to tell the coil pack when to fire. You should be able to solder the connector on and then just plug and play. I am not sure why they say the test book would be needed other than scaring you into it.

Agreed. I see no problems. I replaced my original engine with a used one, along with a used flywheel from another Rover supplier. I reused my original sensor, and never had a problem.
