Talking Creek Crossings

Hey All,

Its that time of year again, to start heading out to my favorite fishing holes. However this year will be different because I'm going in the 04 Disco.

On the way to one of the bestest spots there are three creek crossings, no higher (usually) than the running boards (fishing is no good if its higher though its fun to go anyway) and is freshwater. Anyways the question is:

Will washing my wheel (area) like this cause me to light up like a Christmas tree and screw up my sensors???

I have done this many times the crossings are safe but I didn't have all the electronic monitors before

Thanks

Robert

Water won't hurts the Speed sensors, don't go deeper then the tops of your tires or you'll suck water in a hydro lock the engine.

make sure your breathers are secure. the ones for the diffs and T-case. As long as they are not hangen down by the axle your good.

And the nice thing about a gas engine is if you flodd it with water you can remove the spark plugs, crank the engnine over to pump out the water, reinstall said spark plugs and still drive the thing home.
Cant do that with a diesel.

I was under the impression that wading with a petrol engine was a bad idea, due to all the electric doodads required to keep her running. Top of the tires ain't bad though! Other than hydrolock (which can be solved with a raised intake) what else is there to worry about?

if you go too deep you can indeed get some very sensitive electronics wet, mainly your ecu, plug wires, things of that nature...

but like mike said, to the tops or your tires is a good standard, keep a good bow wave, and hope your door seals are good...

Its not only how deep you go but how you do it.

A diesel can run underwater as long as it's getting dry air.
