Default cruise control runs about 10mph slow

Whenever I set it, it will slow down about 10 (at highway speeds) and then maintain there just fine.
I will often go 10 over my intended, set it, then let it catch where it should be.
And accelerating via the button seems to have no effect.
What's the deal?

Vacuum leak at the CC mechanism?
Or
Check to see if there is slack in the CC throttle cable at the butterfly linkage. Overtime the cable will stretch.

Two ways to check tolerance.
1. In the driver's seat. You should have zero play while depressing the accelerator in the first few millimeters of travel.
2. Under the hood. Activate the butterfly linkage manually, do you notice any slack in the cable while opening? If so, just tighten the cable/s using the adjustment screws just like the brakes on an old Huffy.

There a spec in the RAVE for cable slack . There are two cable: throttle and cruise control. I would check/adjust that. It's quick and easy to do.

Forgot to say I already tightened that to no avail.

Are you saying no acceleration when set held? Does Res switch work as advertised?

Surprised to see the horn relay is used in the system. Set signal gets pwr through relay control circuit. Might want to pull out and reinstall to clean plug terminals. Swapping with another an option too. Easy & worth a shot.

Cruise set/accelerate
When the set/accel switch is operated, the switch contacts close and connect the feed from
the horn relay to cruise control ECU pin C0239-4, via the rotary coupler and an RW wire.
This signal initiates the cruise control ECU to activate the cruise control pump functions,
providing all other parameters are correct.
Cruise resume/suspend
When the res/suspend switch is operated, the switch contacts close and connect the feed
from the horn relay to cruise control ECU pin C0239-2, via the rotary coupler and a UW wire.
If cruise control is engaged, this signal suspends cruise control operation. If cruise control is
suspended, the signal will initiate the cruise control ECU to engage cruise control at the
speed retained in the ECU's memory.

I am going off memory, but i believe there is a vac line that goes to the cruise control unit. Check that for cracks/leaks.

Drowssap, why would tire size matter? The cruise control reads gets the road speed signal from the SLABS and seeks to keep the road speed where it was set, regardless of whether or not that speed was miscalibrated due to tire size, right?

Thread's starter had three on the same day, all may be/probably are related to his low voltage issues. Some of the D2's boxes don't seem too fond of batteries sans a full charge as his has had.
