Default Cuts out a little at constant hwy speed

I recently purchased my first Rover, an '03 Disco II, from a friend. I know for sure it was very well maintained. 72k, new fluids, new u joints, new O2 sensors, new suspension(everything), new tires. At hwy speeds 60-70 mph it cuts out occasionally. There is no problem that I have noticed in town or at slower speeds. I'm running 91 octane with no additives. My first thought was the fuel filter, but I am aware there is no fuel filter. Is there a screen or "sock" in the tank that might need attention? If not, has anyone else had a similar problem? I've tried injector cleaner, no luck.

Default Cuts out at highway speeds

Hi and welcome. What do you mean when you say it 'cuts out occasioally'? Do you mean it quits and rolls to a stop, or does it feel like the engine is missing at a certain speed and RPM ? Does it only do it in the top gear ? How old are the plugs and wires ? Does the check engine light come one, and have the codes been read ?

The engine is missing. There are no codes. I have no idea how old the plugs and wires are. It does it in top gear, mainly while going up hill or passing. I noticed this morning that it idles a little rough. But there are no codes.

Start with new wires and plugs. Wires being critical in these trucks either magnacors:

or if you can't afford them then people have had luck with kingsborne wires. Any high quality plugs will do. Try this first then let us know. Also let us know if you need help with installation, see the sticky also.

I agree, do the tune up and when done do an induction cleaning to get rid of a lot of old carbon build up.
