Default Cylinder 8 misfire..Help!

04 Disco SE .....only code that is registering is for cylinder 8 misfire. Prior to that, multiple misfire codes and changed plugs and wires then ran fine for about 2 weeks.....Now, loses power at about 1500 rpm's.....engine light flashes....backfires under the hood. Took to landrover dealer to diagnose. They say may be sticky valve. $2700.00 to do valve job. Air compression good. Replaced wires, coilpack, plugs, changed oil. Other mechanic tested injectors and said were good. HELP!!!

The wires are not magnacor's. Does that make a difference? Plugs are bosch platinums....which are already sooted. Only use premium type gas.

Yes, it matters that they are not magnecores.

There are any number of things that can cause a misfire like that.

Do a Seafoam treatment, put some copper champion plugs in her, and see if that helps.

New 8MM wires and either regular Champion or +4 Bosch plugs.

The regular plats run like poop on any wires.

please note that you should stop driving any time the light is flashing. If it is steady on, it means you need to service something, if it is flashing, something really bad is happening to the motor. Anything in red or flashing means stop...
