Default Cylinder Sleeve Slipping? ...

Hi,

I hope this hasn't been discussed too much ... I did a little search and didn't find anything ...

I have a knocking/tapping in my 1996 Discovery engine ... There is no noise when I start up - but the it starts and gets louder ... And changes with the engine speed ... One suggestion was that one of the cylinder sleeves had slipped ... Any thoughts? ... If that is the problem what are the possible courses of action ...

Thanks ...

Mark

Have you overheated your engine recently?
Have you ever given your engine a really good engine flush, have you checked your oil pressure?
For starters I would say it wasn't a sleeve, not yet till other things are rulled out.
