D II vibration at acceleration on low rotors
Hello out there. Is anybody aware of following problem? my Disco D2 MY 1999 has distinctive vibrations driving on 1600-2000 rotors and accelerating to get faster. It is worse with the 5th gear, but less with all others. I had this problem before the change of the clutch and it still is there but not so heavy.
It seems to come from the motor, gear box/transfer etc. I checked already all loosen bolts as well as the props, they are fine because of the check with the clutch exchange, but what could this be?? long question I know, but maybe someone had the same before and knows an answer?? please do not hesitate to ask any questions even if they appear silly.. thanks to all.. Tobias

Additional data
just forgot about my MY99 Disco 2 TD5 , it has around 100k mls, prop shafts greased regularly, oil changed on gear box , trans etc.
could it be the motor or gear box fixation rubber mounts?? too old and to weak? or hard or whatever? does anybody know whats the cost for these mounts?
cheers Tobias

Where are you located Tobias?
There is a very common problem with the D2 trucks in which the front prop shafts will fail and come apart at the transfer case. This is a serious issue, because the proshaft will flail around underneath the truck, and can cause severe transmission damage. It is very important that you check that double joint at the transfer case, because if it is vibrating, it is going to fail, and in very short order.

Well, thanks tornado_735, I checked the prop shafts before mounting them and found them to be ok, there was no wear or play visible/remarkable.
Do you mean they fall apart without noticing before if checked? hopefully not,
because I just rebuilt this whole area in order to change the clutch.. so did not see any sign of defect. And I did reference mark before removing, so this should not be the problem. Could it be in the transfer box??
Thanks to all answers, you never know where to look.
