D1 brushgaurd
i just bought a 97 D1 XD the special edition yellow one, but i guess over the years the owners took off the "extra" parts, like the roof rack mounted lights and the front brush guard, i have looked around on the web but i am still havin trouble findin one similar to the one that is supposed to be on there, any help would be great...

Ohh man that sucks!!! There were only 250 of those XD's made. If you're looking to replace the hardware with the same type you're looking for an SD (Safety Devices) roof rack. They're back in business but not making racks for the Disco's anymore. IF you can find one you're looking at $700 (at least) for a used one, and that's before shipping. Most sellers will not ship due to the size and weight of the rack. Some people say the D2 and D1 racks are interchangeable, but they are not. The D1 rack on a D2 is too short, and the D2 on a D1 is too long. You can find the wraparound brushguards on Craigslist sometimes (much cheaper than the roof rack) but they are hard to find since the D1's are so old now. RoverLandParts has D1 brushguards for $200 right now. Got any pics of that XD??
it was a special edition, same basic truck, but had lots of the available extras fitted as standard, look really cool imo...

yeah its not really any better than the normal models just bright yellow with a few little additions or options that make it stand out... i think i will have to hold off on the brush guard for a while, i just developed a leak at my front crankshaft seal, well i say leak, but its more like a struck oil in my engine bay... no big deal though, time to annoy the company mechanics...
