Default Are the D1 and D2 transmissions interchangeable??

Reason I'm asking is because I found a decent D2 with a bad tranny and have a D1. I prefer the D2's a lot more and was wondering if the tranny's are exactly alike, if not: if it would be a direct swap anyway, and if it won't be a direct swap what would I need to do??

Please dont treat my 3rd post on here as if Im a newb, as some forums do lol. I do motor swaps on older bmw's for a job, so I'm decent with a wrench

Thanks in advance!

Can it be done? Probably. Will it light your dash up like Christmas? Of course. The DI has few electronics on it, while the DII is run completely by them.

Helo mike. What if the transmission comes from a 2003 land rover discovery and I'm going to put it in a 2003 4.6 laND rover discovery.

Let me answer that for you, as it doesn't take a wealth of knowledge. FROM a 2003 will go into another 2003. its the same model
