I just ended up keeping my 2003 D2 HSE but also bought a full size 2006 Range Rover SC.

The only reason to avoid the 03 D2 at this point is because an 04 is very similarly priced but has CDL.

Of all of the Landies that i've owned... I had the most issues with my 2004 Discovery.... engine replacement at 18,000, radiator replacement at 1300 miles, I had so many issues that the land rover dealer bought it back under the lemon law..... I have not had any of those issues with my 2000 Discovery II, or my 2010 Range rover.... I think that with any car, there are good ones and bad ones... its just a crap shoot..... I do think that the 2003 model year gets a bad rap....
