The only thing I don't like about my dash is those weak cup holders. I don't like the DII ones that ride along side the tranny tunnel either. Actually to be honest I disapprove of cup holders in cars in general. But for a truck that's supposed to be the toughest of tough they are pretty weak.

I am with you 100%, those DII cup holders I hit my leg on, they are big and bulky.
I have found that I can rest my 20oz Mountain Dew perfectly between me and the center console.
Set it right on the seat and the space between my fat @ss and the seat switches is perfect.

Hah nice Spike. Usually I'd just have the gf hold my drink. She's gotta do something useful, right?

I love the DII aftermarket cup holders! They dont get in my way at all and I'm 6' 5" so i'd notice right away if they were a problem. But anyways, I'm pretty sure when they were designing the Disco they finished it and were so proud of their work... then realized they forgot cup holders. The stock ones just have afterthought written all over them.

But see Cam you are father away from the cup holders, the bulk of my body is closer to the dash, my drivers seat is as far forward as it can go, my thighs are where the cup holders would be.
If I was sitting farther away and only my calfs were up there then no, would not be a problem.

I agree on the console AND cupholders as well. It seems the about the only thing the slide out cupholders are good for are cans. I have recently installed a radio with the flip out screen. I had a 18oz, or whatever those weird sizes that are smaller than 20 oz are in there and forgot about it. Almost ripped my screen off when it folded out. I put DII seats in and sometimes I used the rear seat cupholders to hold drinks. Nowadays the "smalls" are somehow 87 oz buckets so I would have to set it in the actual console.

I'm glad this was brought up because I have a set of those "bulky" cupholders that I was fighting on whether to install because it looked like it would get in the way plus I didn't want to screw through my console only to remove it. My good friend told me that Europeans are against eating and drinking in cars so on some vehicles they have the most pathetic cupholders. He had an Audi S8 and currently has a Merc S55 where 12 oz cans are the largest you can fit if you're lucky. I guess the German quality is too high to be concerned with quenching thirst.

The Germans think that you should enjoy driving and not be bothered by eating in your car, I agree...until I get hungry or thirsty. lol
