D1 fog lamp replacements
What have people done in general about these useless "fog" lamps. Is there something modern that slots right into the spaces without modification? Something that actually helps to light the road?
Thanks,
Alan

I'm getting rid of my lame fog lights, I found a lower bumper valance from a non-fog light DI and I'm either going to install that when I put my brush bar on the frt and mount real fog lights to the bar----or----leave the valance off altogether and cut the bumper end caps to match.
I've been wondering the same thing and have been considering the Hella 550 model, however I'm not sure if they'll fit and I have yet to measure the dimensions of the stock lights.
Here are the dimensions of the Hella 550s: Lamp Dimensions: 7⅔" H x 3¾" W x 3¼" D

If you've seen the mounting of the stock fog lights, you may also need to fabricate a bracket to be able to mount these new lights, which shouldn't be too hard to do.

I cut off my valance, installed (2)110w 4" drivers on top of my bumper (spiced into oem fog wires) 2years ago - they pierce fog fairly well just due to the power, but are great on country roads.
