Default D1 rearview mirror replacement

How do you remove the rearview mirror? All I see is plastic surrounding it.

Take it to a glass shop. [8D]
No, I have no idea. Did your auto dimming mirror go bad?

Yeah it's shot. I have a 99 donor that is in exceptional condition. As a matter of fact the guy that owns the scrap yard was going to make repairs and sell it. He didn't realize that the insurance co. wasn't going to release the title until after he won the auction for it. Sucks too, cause all it needs is a bumber and grill. I'm getting quite abit of the interior componets out of it.
Another post on that to come

Are you talking about one made by LR or a universal one?

YOu have to put something on top of it and give it a firm smack downward. No screw, just tension.

yup, just ran out and took mine off to make sure. It goes down.

To remove the mirror after you have unpluged the power supply.
You use your hand and hit it until it comes off just make sure that you keep the force parallel to the window.
