Default D1 vs D2 wiper blades

I bought D1's wiper arms and I noticed that D1 blades are 4 inches shorter. Do I need to get the 18inches or I can go with the. 22 inches one. There seem to be plenty of clearance.

i used the specified length and it's tight but good. can't remember what it was...21 or 22?

To clarify, that's for the D2 with the D1 arms.
I use the specified length on both and they work great. I like the Silblades I got from Amazon.

So I do not need to go with the recommended length for D1, which is 18 and buy slightly longer blades and put it on D1 arms, right?
18 seems to be really short for disco's windshield.

If it fits, buy longer ones. I forget what I have on my DII but they are no where near stock.

Correct, put whatever fits.

Ask if you can bring a set outside to check. I'm pretty sure I've got a 21" on the drivers and a 19" on the pass side that's a bit too small (had an extra from another vehicle).

21" on both would work for sure.

Thank you every body for your input and help. I Will go with the 21", I already bought 18" fron Costco, specified length as per their book for D1 , but compared to the current D2 wipers they are really short.
The only place that I found D2's wipers was NAPA for $24 a piece and the arm was not putting enough pressure on the blades any way, so I am glad thanks to this forum that I got the D1 arms.

I went with the 20" Goodyears from Costco. With that, plus the D1 arms, it leaves me 1" clearance on the passenger side.
