D2 with 245 75 16 and no lift
Hello everybody. Is there someone out there running a 245 75 16 on their disco 2? I would love to see pics of that setup both with and without a lift. If so how did they affect fuel mileage and on road performance? I want bigger tires but not too big as it really kills our already crappy fuel mileage. I'm going to lift my 99 D2 but I may run the stock setup for awhile so the before and after pics will be greatly appreciated.

245's will cost you around 3/4 of a MPG.
They fit well but you should at least replace your shocks to improve your ride and slow the bouncing down.
If you ever go to a lift, don't go over a medium duty lift or the tires will look a little small in the wheel well area.

Shaggy:
I'm running 245/75/16 Goodyear Wranglers on my 2000 Disco with no lift. As Mike says, there's a small mileage penalty, but nothing too severe when I consider what they do for me every winter.
The spare will fit rather tightly unless the carrier is inverted, which I finally got around to doing a couple of months ago.

Here you go. AUS spec TD5 with Maxxis Bighorn Mud Terrains 245/75-16, no lift.
Car pretty much stock, bigger tyres make it slightly more sluggish around town but much nicer off road through ruts etc. Your NAS V8's wont notice the sluggishness of bigger tyres so much as a TD5, but economy might suffer, but in a Diesel you get approx 8-900 kilometers on a good run, so whats a hundred here or there for some nice chunky tyres
