I just replaced my front rotors and pads with this same setup. I haven't driven too many miles yet so I'm still in the bedding-in phase but they already feel much better than the previous setup which was DBA drilled and slotted rotors with OEM pads (?!) installed by a previous owner. By the way, the DBA rotors seem to still be within service specs so I'm trying to find a shop that still has a brake lathe so I can get them set for the next brake service!

No worries man, I hear that!

Personally I have drilled rotors on my motorcycle, drilled and slotted on my S60R, and solid on my Rover.

Yes, but are the EBC one's better...made of more durable, more heat dissipating material, better warranty or something like that?

I bought the EBC rotors cause they were cheap. I wanted to get akebono rotors, I bet the work really good with the akebono pads. Call lucy8 they are great with any questions!!

EBC drilled and slotted rotors are priced per pair, so they aren't much more expensive. I bought mine with free shipping for $171 for the pair. EBC plain rotors (no dimples or slots) are $60 each. I went the extra $50 figuring it couldn't hurt since I was now trying to slow the truck down with 10% more force on the brakes from the larger diameter tires.

I live in Canada so everything is about 20% more expensive, if you can find it here, if not I pay through the nose for shipping

I am thinking about getting R1Concepts E-Line rotors. R1 has them on eBay for $137 shipped for all four. Search for R138081 to find them. They get good reviews on other (non-LR) forums. Their premium line looks nice also.

Get some of these:

DiscoWeb Message Boards

It will probably do more for your D2 braking than brake pad and rotor flavor of the week

(unless you've already got an 03-04)
