Default D2 Fan Clutch

Is there a generic cheap fan clutch for a D2? I know there is one for a D1, can I use that one?

Probably so, but has sensitive as our engine are to heat I would stay with a factory clutch.
What is wrong with yours, how is your electric fan doing?

Mine seems to be working but the electric fan turns on at idle. As soon as you rev the engine the aux fan shuts of so I am wondering if the mechanical fan isn't pulling enough air. By the way Mike, after using that K&W block sealer my cooling system is not pressurizing anymore. Hopefully that stuff will get me through the winter and I'll buy another motor once it is warmer outside.

Go with the standard duty one.

I think you will be getting into trouble, I believe the D2 fan blade is designed to pull more air and if so, you won't draw enough air and will overheat.

Thumbs up

I am not sure on your engine replacement timeline but I saw a motor with 24k miles on it for sale in Phoenix. It was listed on Craigslist. It was in a yellow Disco II that had been involved in a test for roof crash strength or something like that. The engine looked like it was all still intact and was still in the vehicle. I have no idea how much he wants for the engine. I also saw one in Orange County listed on Craigslist with around 70k miles. I think that they only wanted $1000 or so. Good luck. Phil

I do not know for 100% if it will work or not.
Mike may be onto something with the different fans.
The DI has a 3 core radiator and the DII has a 2 core so a fan that moves more air is needed.
