Default Damage common in drive-shaft failure

I am going to look at an 03 supposedly in perfect shape other than damage from a drive shaft pounding. I know the tranny is in pieces.

Any advice on what other damage is common in this situation?

*EDIT
Not so much driveshaft damage but FYI '03 Disco's "were" known for engine oil pumps going bad.

The transmission is around $7k new.
Used are $1k and up.
If you can get it dirt cheap and do your own work, sure.
Otherwise, keep looking.

Please stop promulgating outdated information. All 03's that had oil pump issues were repaired years ago. That is NO LONGER AN ISSUE OF CONCERN!!!

Oil pumps fail on every year of Rover at about the same rate as head gaskets.

Fake news I guess? You must have an '03.

BTW... I edited my first post to specify '03 Disco's "were" known for engine oil pumps going bad.

The date on that document is March 14, 2003.
Any of the affected trucks that have survived until now (14 years later...) have probably already been recalled and repaired.

Zuke, sorry to hear your driveshaft flapped around and chewed the tranny up.

Not my truck. I was gonna look at it to buy but wanted to know what to look for when inspecting it. I have an 04 parts truck with good motor and tranny so I thought for $300 this would be a good rig.

For $300 as a parts donor truck it's well worth a consideration, really, it's a no brainer provided it's not too far away and you have a trailer and somewhere to store the truck.
