HSE - Discovery model (D2) 03, 04

Wrong, HSE is a model designation on all land rovers including freelander, RRS, RR, Discovery models.

There are base models now with different models. For example Discovery 4 has XG, XS, HSE

Freelander two has S, XG, XS, HSE

Range Rover Sport has SE, HSE, SC also HSE with LUX package

Range Rover, Vogue, Vogue SE, SC, Autobiography editions. depending on country some are a package and some are more personal.

And don;t forget all the special Editions

Rovin, good job, sometimes we forget that what we're saying doesnt even make sense to everyone. I said CDL to a mechanic once and he didn't have a clue i was talking about center diff lock...

Imagine a 2010 RR HSE with all the bells and whistles and all of those bells and whistles have at least two or three modules with their own acronyms.

I have a list of my training manuals that list something along the lines of fifty acronyms for modules. Thats not including the regular Periodic tables listed including NOX, CO, MO, CH,
Oh and we have wiring color schemes which differ per vehicle. Older ones use a different system then the newer ones.

There is alot there trust me.

I'm sure there is, and I totally understand where you're coming from, but I believe the OP was creating this for forum use, not actual Land Rover techs. And he called it DAMS which means its for Disco use, not RR's.

I think it was more of a informative thing rather than a technical thing. But i'll let eaglewing answer that.

Love it! This is a great idea...probably would make for a great sticky in the "New Members" area so first-timers have a reference to all the Disco lingo.

ha to most CDL is commercial drivers license! I am sure we have quite a few others that are rover specific that would mean something else to other people. I thought it was a great post. I also remember a time when I had to ask what TPS meant, so maybe it will be beneficial to someone.

Thank you guys for the kind words, I feel better about this now.

I have a 98 DI which is electronic simple compared to the DII’s with many more acronyms.
This list started so that I could understand what was being talked about on the forum for both DI and DII’s. It was a good learning exercise.

If it worked for me so I decided to share it with the forum.
