Das Disco 03
Hi Everyone !
I finally got another Rover, I just picked up a Disco 2003 in the states for 12,900 USD
with 54,000 on it. However I do have a question about that gas thingy on the dash.
It's in miles because it's US but anyway, I find I'm currently getting about 300 mi to
a tank does that sound scary, average, great, pathetic? (grin)
I figure it's about 500 km for 95 liters or 5.2 L/km .... I figured you guys would know!

The mileage you're getting equals 19liters/100kms, and this is pretty good for winter gas. I normally get about 22L/100KMs in the winter, but this is morning and evening traffic rush.
WOW ! See ... I knew you guys would know! (grin) OK, so it's not great but it's not bad.
Thanks for the info gentleman! BTW - Someone else said you can get better millage if you
drive in the city in 3rd, has anyone ever heard of that? Also what about "sport" mode?
Is it a good thing, lame, handy, awsome? (grin)
I'll deff. have to try that mi to km thing on the dash reset button as well, thanks!

If you do alot of in town, stop and go, below 50 MPH type of driving, it will give you better mileage by staying in the lower gears, 3rd. less throttle pressure makes for higher MPG.
Thanks guys .... I'll try the 3rd gear thing ....
New question # 37B .... I had a wonky batt terminal connection here a while ago and
the negative lead was loose. Got it put back on all peachy, and I see that the radio
now won't spark up.
It flashes a bit and that's it. I took it in to the local Rover dealership here in Calgary
and they asked me who did my day-time running lights? I told them it was the place
I bought it from in the USA where I bought it.
They claim that who ever did the day-time running lights screwed up and they claim
that my fuse box is toast. But they'll happilly put in a new one for $550 for the fuse
box plus labor ..... UHmmm,....?!?!?! yea.
So right now the radio flashes for a sec when I press in the power button ....
and sometimes not at all.
What do you think there experts? I also just heard that the radio has TWO power lines,
the main one and a second data line that actaully turns it on and off.
Worse case I can pull the stock deck and toss in an after market so I can play MP3's .....
