99 Disco II

Hey folks. I have a dash light thats out unless you hit the brake pedal... or put the right directional on.

When you turn the directional on the dash lights blink with the light...however if you hit the brake while the directional is on...the dash blinks the opposite of the directional.

It is also effecting the right rear tail light.

I have tried a new bulb in the tail light. I even swapped the metal casing thing that the bulb plugs into with a known good one on a friends truck.

There is obviously a short somewhere... but not sure where to start. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Check the various ground terminals for tightness. There are some that are hard to see under carpeting etc, check the RAVE wire diagrams for grounds. You're probably pushing down on it when you push down on the carpeting.
