Default dash lit up like a christmas tree,,,well not

well not quite,,,

out on a date lastnight and i am leaving the theater and i hit a speedbump at a 45 degree angle and the TC, ABS, and Brake lights come on and stay on till i kill power and restart the rig. i had no other problem the rest of the night.

so i look in the archives and see it could be as simple as brake dust on a sensor to a hub needing to be replaced. so i take it as the next step being to drive it to a indy shop and have the codes read and cleared.

other opinions?

Don't spend much time trying to figure it out.
2 things to check, do your brakes squeak and if you do a panic stop from 30 MPH plus, can you feel the ABS pulsate thru the brake pedal?

my brakes only squeak when i am stopping from about 10mph and under. BUT DO NOT squeal at a constant rate while driving. only when stopping. for instance if i am driving at 35mph and braking while coming to a stop light there is no sound from the brakes until i slow to about 10 mph and then they will squeal a bit. but not always.

the abs pulsating i will have to try out today.

im thinking i might just need new pads,,,

Mine came on and off a few times over the course of about 8 months. Then they were on all the time. You may want to start saving now for a 3 amigos fix because the repair bill can hit a few grand pretty quick.

You are probably right, brakes that will squeak will cause the trio to come on. Get them replaced with good Rover proven pads, using lots of sound deadening spray, before you set the fault codes then you'll be looking at a $100 bill just to check and clear the codes.

i will change out the fronts this weekend.

my bet is that the pads are original to the truck and with 50k they need to be s#$% canned.

what kind of spray do recommend?

Nearly all the pads that work well on Rovers come on line, not the local auto stores.
Atlantic British is one of the better places, they offer different quality pads, all that work well on Discos.
Make sure that you use lots of sound deadening spray to cut the chance for more squeaks.

It's almost always cheaper to order online and pay for the shipping, than go to the dealer and pay their price (and tax too).
