Default Dash warning lights = dying battery

Yesterday was the day to trailer the new boat to the lake for the first time....ah, the anticipation. I start the 03 Disco with 42,000 miles and find two dash warning lights on. The "S" and "M" lights for the transmission modes. I asked my wife , she's the primary driver, about the dash lights. She said she took it in for service last week and they told her the lights might mean a dying battery. They quote her $150 to install a new battery and she declines.
The farther I drove the Disco the more lights that came on until every dash warning light came on. I turned around and took her back to my garage. I bought a new battery and wizz - bang - boom everything is fine now and we had an enjoyable afternoon on the lake.
The moral of the story....if all your dash warning lights come on it just may be a weak battery and you can install a new battery in less than ten minutes and for a whole lot cheaper than the "stealership".

Carry on,

X

Default RE: Dash warning lights = dying battery

Sounds to me like you owe the dealer one.
As they gave that to you at no charge.
