Default Dealership only place to get the radio code?

I don't need it at the moment but when I do I'd like to have it. I have the plain old standard factory radio. I have the owners manual but no one wrote it in there. TIA

There may be a separate guide for in-car entertainment. Have you looked there?

If it's not there, dealership is your only resort. I had to fax my driver's license and title to show proof of ownership before they emailed me my code.

Thats kind of what I expected. I remember I had a Lincoln town car that had a sticker inside the trunk with the code on it. I guess I'll stop by next time I'm near a dealership and get the code. Are they going to charge me for it?

I've only ever needed a radio code for the Becker brand sat nav radio. All the Alpine ones I have had have no radio code needed. Apparently it was an option the dealer could activate.

If you have the Becker sat nav radio, they have a listing on eBay for $25 to get the code.

I think LR USA (North America) can provide the code as well, by phone. May need to provide proof of ownership.

I've asked for radio codes numerous times for ones I've pulled from the junk yard. They will need a VIN number though, usually the last 6 digits. Takes 5 minutes, never asked for liscense or proof of ownership.

I'm sorry for my ignorance, but what codes are you talking about??? I've never heard of this.
