Default Debris in Water Pump

I have a 2000 Disco II and the water pump failed. Here's what I guess happened - the bearing(s) failed, the seal melted and got sucked into the pump. When I pulled the pump off there were copious amounts of metal flecks in the coolant as well as a melted clump of rubber - or rubber-like substance. My question is this, what can/should I do to remove whatever debris might be deeper inside? It's all taken apart at this point. I've tried searching the forum for a similar question/thread and haven't found anything (but I'm new so maybe I'm not searching in the right place/way). Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
