How long did they take to dry and what did you sand them with?
Thanks,

RE: Decided to paint my wheels...
I used the same paint before, in Bronze. I painted 10 wheels for my 240sx drift car, so that at the track and events I would have all the same wheels. I sandblasted the wheels, primed, painted, and cleared them, and I didn't have any chipping with all the tire changing. I also put about 6 coats of paint on them, and another 4 of clear.

Yeah, I have been thinking of painting my wheels with the bronze. I have the forest green on my Disco, I think it would look great.
I used a Duplicolor spray paint on my track car wheels. Not the wheel paint, just some other paint... anyway, it's held up great.

The key to the paint coming out good is mainly in the prep work. Spend some time and do not rush it. It will help durability and looks if you wet sand it between coats and then after the last coat of clear so a polish with like a medium cut and then wax the hell out of it.
Guarantee you will like the results. This coming from another BMW freak.

I just sand blasted mine. They were powder coated white originally, and the sand couldn't strip the powdercoat. Pretty amazing actually. All they did was scuff it up, but that was good enough.
As far as the wheels being perfect... I'm not too worried. Functional wheels will never look perfect. If I spent hours doing it, I couldn't beat on them.
My painted wheels are currently covered in really nasty racing brake dust. Nothing I can do about it, but they look better than they did when white!
