Default Deer vs ARB

On the interstate heading to work this morning, a nice sized doe decided to jump out right in front of me. Hit it head on doing 65mph. Thank god for the ARB; worked perfectly. Sent the deer about 100 ft and about 20 feet high...never seen anything like it. The ARB is toast, but it worked as designed. From what I can tell, all the damage is cosmetic. The frame looks fine and nothing really got past the bumper. Looking at a new hood, drivers side fender, turn signal, and that's all I can see right now because I can't get the hood open. The light tabs at the top of the ARB are up against the hood.

Have an appt at a body shop for an appraisal for the insurance company later today. I hope they don't total it...that would suck.

On a positive note, there is a Disco II at the local pull-it yard and I picked up a hood, front fender, turn signal, and a steering wheel (it was in GREAT shape). All for $110 US dollars. Will need to be painted, but that will need to happen anyway.

Thanks guys. I wish I had a video of it, craziest thing I have ever seen.

That deer never stood a chance against a 2 ton Disco with an ARB. No airbags, but my rearview mirror needed adjustment. :-)

Pic added.

These bumpers are extremely stout. If I get another DII this will be my first purchase.

Not sure If you guys saw this but I recently lost my DII in an unfortunate accident (it suffered frame damage & had the front driver's wheel ripped off the axle). The ARB Deluxe Bull Bar bumper saved my life!
