Default anti theft code 94 disco
Ok I disconnected the battery per rave manual instructions
While bleeding brakes, (better safe than sorry) and now the stereo is prompting me for a code.
Im hoping it is still set at its default.
Anyone know the default anti theft code for 94 discovery?

The stereo anti-theft code is specific to each and every Rover. The code should be in the owners manual case, if you cannot find it you will have to call your dealer with the VIN#, fax them proof that you are the owner of the truck and then they can give you the un-lock code.
WRITE IT DOWN AND DO NOT LOSE IT.
How to enter the code will be in the owners manual, there should be a seperate "audio" manual and that should have a card with the security code in it.

Chance are you won't be able to get the radio code thru a dealer/Rover. Rover only keeps the radio codes for 7 years and then they are gone.
One possibility though would be to find the original selling dealer, if they still have a foulder on your truck they may have the code.
Good luck

I cant believe they would not have some Logical way of creating the number.. like 5 of the numbers in the VIN, or 2 numbers of the VIN and the Date of manufacture.. or something like this.. I had a mitsubishi montero that had the same crap happen with the Radio.. Luckily it was my father in laws.. Im confident that we will get the code as we bought this from a freind of the family, but I cannot believe there is no logical explaination as to how they come up with the number itself.
Used to be, for awhile, that if you removed your radio and sent Rover the serial number as well as your vin, that you could get the code, but last I heard, some years ago, even that won't help any more.
When I bought my 97, the dealer I bought it from called the dealer and got the stereo code with no problems. All he had to give them was the VIN number if I recall correctly. I have never compared my stereo code to the VIN but I'm about 95% certain there is no logical connection between the 2. Give the dealer a call with as much information as possible and see if they can help you out. If not, go to Best Buy and have them install an aftermarket stereo.
If I cant get it then I will start on a methodical 11111 / 11112 / 11113 attempt trying a new code each morning as I get in the vehicle to go to work, The last thing I want is to do is let some pimply face guy go pulling on wires in my Cherry Ride.. Id rather go without a radio.
3 codes every morning, I should have all 10,000 possibillities entered in only 10 years!!
and that is assuming the numbers 7,8,9 and 0 are in play, which they are not...
