DI t-case shifter on my D2
I recently added the bits and pieces (CDL HOUSING) to my non-locking t-case. I removed my stock hi/lo cable shifter assembly and am waiting for the DI shifter from roverlandparts.com to arrive and want to know if anyone has pics of this linkage. (either installed or not)
I have no idea how to install it nor what it really looks like other than the image on roverlandparts.com, RAVE, and parts catalog. I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out once it arrives but until then.... i have you guys...

Give yourself 4-6 hrs and a 6-pack of good brew to complete this. A couple pointers:
1) Completely clean and lubricate the linkage when you get it. Don't just hold it in one hand and hose it down with WD-40. I mean, disassemble and clean, then grease the socket where the linkage and shifter meet. This is most important, otherwise you'll be pulling it back out when you find it is not moving properly.
2) When the directions tell you to leave the old cable linkage in the truck and zip-tie it to the harnesses on top of the transfer case: This is way, way easier than removing the bracket holding it in. Believe me, the last thing I wanted to do was leave it there. NEVERMIND, just noticed you removed this already. Now I'm jealous!
3) Understand the fact you will need to make some adjusments to the linkage.
It works fine after all said and done. I could not justify the $200 difference in price for the 04 model after realizing this one does the job and I only use it about once a month.

Well I actually got the cable removed last week. It WAS a pain in the @$$. Leaving it like the write-up suggests was not an option. I am worried i guess that even after I clean it up and grease and lube the linkage, it will not work smoothly.... but i will try it.
Question: My original cable setup has the shift interlock that would not allow HI to go into LO without the transmission being in neutral... does the DI linkage have something similar?

I wish mine was a diesel...
I don't believe my t-case has the interlock switch on the casing. According to RAVE, for the 03 models it was moved from the t-case and up to the shifter assembly... so I guess i just need to be careful to not accidentally engage in low while not in neutral..
