Default Did I get lucky? 2003 CDL

For starters I know Jeeps and this is my first Land Rover. I also never claimed to be a smart man. I have read hundreds of posts and some ripping on people claiming they have a diff lock on the non diff lock years.
The transfer case sticker says diff lock(heard there were a few that had the wrng sticker). Also the shift **** says diff lock( could swap the ****). You can swing the lever to the left in the apparent diff lock position. When you do this the light comes on the dash with the X in the middle of the two tires.

The only thing I can think of is that I might have an '04 when I nought I bought a '03. All of the paper work says '03. The door jamb sticker says build date of 04/03. Do he Brits do there dates that way? Could the previous owner put one in?

I can post pics but not sure what needs to be seen.

Allright let me have it and make fun of me!

Thanks,

Mike

2003 ( I think ) HSE7 2" lift I think clueless newbie with rovers.

Look underneath, I assume you would have a cable going to a nipple on the top of output on transfer case.

Could have had CDL kit installed by a previous owner, and they might have went all out with new stickers and all.
That's my guess, i'm still new to rovers so don't rely too much on my information. Haha.

Its possible you have an early 04. I have a 2003 but it was made in 2002.

If the tenth digit of the VIN says it's an 03, it's an 03. Unless someone swapped VIN's for some reason.

04's have CDL, bigger roof bars, and decals that are raised even more than the normal decals for 99-03.

Previous owner could have installed an '04 t-case.

A 04/03 is an 03 model, 04's didn't go into production till the end of May if I remember right.

So looks like I did get lucky. I am guessing it is a 2004 transfer case(bonus). There is an old man emu lift with shocks and steering stabilizer(bonus). Also just found out somebody put xenon headlights on it too.

Next steps take off the running boards replace with sliders. Any suggestions????

Also fix front drive shaft. Any tips????

YOu guys are great. Thanks for the help. I will get pics tomorrow.

Mike
