New electronic diesels dont care if you run bio fuel or not.

SO after reading that I jumped online thinking "no way it's that easy" I have talked to a few brokers there already. Looks like I can get a nice Defender 110 TDI for under 10k Shipped..

jhewitt1111...links to the brokers, please! One question though, will the truck be able to be registered, pass inspection, etc. here in the states?

^^From what I've heard/read yes, to all of the above, as long as it's 25+ years old...

If/when I'm ready to pull the trigger on one I'm leaning more to importing one from southern Europe...less rust issues and lhd instead of the cooky/wrong rhd...

Yeah, I will post some links and contacts this evening. It looks like because of the age most states as well as federal emmison standards are not an issue. You can go newer but you have to make some changes that can get costly. Looks like my dream car may come true a LOT sooner than later. I just have to learn to drive on the other side of the car or take the time to swap it all.

Don't limit your search to the UK...go south and check out France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc...better climates (no salt on the roads used/needed in the winter) and lhd to boot.

I'm surprised you guys are just hearing of this. It's a regular topic on many of the other Rover forums...

Here's one of the exporters...IMO his trucks are a little expensive, but that's because he does a lot of work on many of these trucks prior to shipping them.

I have a friend who picked up a nice RHD Ex-Mod SIII 109" Radio truck and by doing the legwork to find an exporter over there and an importer over here he was about to buy it, then bring it in and put it on the road for ~$6000 (including shipping and any taxes).

.... this is what i meant by my original post. in 2025 i will import a 2000 defender rather than buy a 2015 diesel range rover.... you don't need a broker. buy yourself a damn plane ticket and go get it yourself. if you don't feel like filling out the form from customs than go ahead and get a broker.

Just a heads up... beware of purchasing stolen vehicles that way, it's not uncommon for vehicles nixed in Europe and UK ending up in other parts of the world.
