Default Diff lock light remains on

Hi!

I am fixing my 1994 Disco that I recently bought. It has several problems and one of them was that the hi/low and diff lock were not working. The hi/low was an electrical problem, and the Diff lock was a common corrosion problem in the lever. Now, mechanically the hi/low and diff lock are working ok, but after I unlock the diff lock, the light remains on. After a several minutes, the light turns off.

Any similar experience?

Thanks!

The switch in the t/case is either slow in changing cause it has not been used much lately or it is failing.

I've had this happen on a few occasions as well. Your diff may be disengaged, but not far enough to make the warning light go off (especially w/ significant corrosion). Before you start looking for sensor issues, try putting your truck in reverse and turning the wheel hard right - back up a few feet and brake. Works for me, give it a shot.

Like Jdelp says.. Back up a few feet, probably more like 20 or so, doesnt make any differance if you turn the wheel. The pressure builds up in the case causing it to "wind-up". Unlock it and drive back and itll go off. If it still doesnt--might be time to go to the stealership... unless you know for a fact that it is unlocked, in which case it'd be fine to drive a bit.
