Default difference in series II models

Not really a tech. question, more of a curiosity.
Could someone give me a quick rundown of the differeces in models?
I have seen:
Plan Disco’s (no lettering)
SD models
SE models
LE models
HSE models

In the 2000 to 2004 years you had S (base model, no badge), SE (mid range model) and HSE (high end model).
Prior years had something like L, LE and LSE - I'm not exactly sure on what they were, but you get the idea.
7 seater models have a 7 tagged on, like SE7, HSE7.

Correction: model badges changed almost each year.
1994-1995: no badges, but there were 2 models
1996-1997: SD, SE, SE7
1998: LE, LSE
1999 I: SD
1999-2000: there were 2 models, but not clear on badges
2001: SD, LE, SE
2002: S, SE
2003-2004: S, SE, HSE

Dam limey's can make anything easy can they? it's like play with alphabet soup.
I give up; it took me 20-years to figure out Harley's alphabet, I dont have another 20 to give to Land rover.
Thanks Bundu

I have a 02 SD and a 01 SE. SD are base models with duragrain interior (not leather), base radio (no remote amp or cd changer), no sunroofs/moonroofs, no class III hitch, while the SE has there items. With a SE the sunroof was an option so you will find some without. The SE has alpine radio with external amp at 220 watts I think. The HSE model had Harmon Kardon with 330 watt amp. Of course SE and and HSE had the 7 option. Rear area seats. SLS and ACE was available option on both the SE and HSE.

Oh and SE and HSE could have cold climate package with items like heated seats and windshield.

here is why I was wondering I have a 2000 w/o badging that is a factory 7 passenger vehicle, with ACE, SLS, dual sun roofs, rear A/C, hitch and folding step, leather and a Harmon Karon Stereo (i believe and Alpine head unit) & 18 inch wheels. Could you order all these options on a base model it seem at some point with these options you would have stepped out of a base model OR was the front clipped and the never replaced the decals? I guessing the front was clipped.

Sounds like someone pulled the badge's off a SE7. Some of the options were not available on the SD...like ACE and SLS..heated seats ect. Sunroofs yes, and upgraded entertainment. Stereo's were a dealer option.

Not sure if it helps, but from what i have found out my 2004 SE has every option except third row seating although i have vents back there and rear controls for options. THis being the case i am not sure the badges mean much if the truck was ordered to fit particular needs of the original buyer.
