one more question, it looks like my t/case has a small leak. Does Lucas or anyone make a additive to help with this? If I put some of the Lucas trannie additive in would that help? Thanks everyone, I know I just went on a question spree...

when i was resealing the transfer case (see sticky thread for information) i recall finding some threads here about using a product called white shepherd to help seal the transfer case. it wasn't very pricey, about 10 bucks, so i gave it a shot and zero leaking so far. maybe you could give that a try?

I'm torn between 75-90 & 75-140 Mobil 1 synthetic.

The factory suggests 75-90 but I am seeing that many of you are using 75-140. Could anyone help shed some light on why I might choose 75-140 over 75-90.

I changed the front diff oil on my 93 defender 90 and oil drain plug seems to be leaking now. I know it is a tapered thread so did not expect it to leak. Any tips ? Should I have used plumbers tape ? I would have expected land rover to use a rubber O-ring or something more than just relying on the thread.
