1999 Discovery - Camel Trophy - Yellow!!!

 

That is NOT a Camel Trophy Land Rover.

The DII was never used in the CT, it was only used in the G4 Challenge and was a burnt orange kind of color.

Vehicles used in order...Jeep, Series, Range Rover Classic, Defender, DI, Freelander, then the Camel Trophy ended and the G4 Challenge came about.

 

I believe there was a 1999 DII Trek, but that yellow in the ad seems too bright to be the Trek yellow. That yellow in the ad reminds me of the XD yellow.

Either way, use a cautious eye on this one.

 

Its definitely not a camel trophy, I spoke with the guy on the phone and it has a old man emu lift put on it. He claims that in 99 land rover sent 50 of these last minute camel trucks to selected dealers around the country. BS, told me it has all the bells and whistles including 2 sunroofs and leather seats. WOW!!! Has this hill decent button that you wont find on a normal land rover. BS, has the rugged wheels that you wont find on any other rover. BS, the title only says land rover discovery does not say camel trophy or anything special but he is sure its the real McCoy the guy that sold it to him probably fed him a line of **** and he obviously ate it:-( do your research before buying. This a bright *** yellow paint job with some black added in. He claims land rover put that black on the hood to take away the glare from the 4 lights on the roof rack. BS, poor old man got hosed.

Oh yea and it even has the extended hitch to let you know that your rubbing when climbing steep hills. BS.

 

Well... it could still be a nice truck and it certainly looks badass. But he won't get my 15k though haha ( If I had 15k to spend)

 

Yeah, I saw the thread by vegas.lr. I had a feeling it was odd, but also figured someone here would call the BS if it was. It supposedly has top hats too, which someone might be interested in.

I didn't have the heart to tell him he got screwed. He was a nice guy just confused on what he has.
He told me he searched and searched but could not find anything about it anywhere.

Yes, a Camel Trophy Freelander, starting in '98 they stopped the "rough tough all off road" event and went to a more man vs nature event with kayaking and mountain biking etc.
1997 was the end of the real Camel Trophy, even that year was pretty tame.

 

And I take it Land Rover installed gold-plated hood lettering? Lol. That truck is ridiculous.
