DII Clock Extraction
I wanted the backlight to work on the clock so I bit the bullet and ordered a new bulb. I had read various write-ups on how to use credit cards to remove the clock assembly but of course nothing substitutes for hands on experience. I took some pictures to document this event.
At first I tried sliding the card straight in but that wouldn't release the clock. The release tabs on the top are located in the middle and towards the left side; the tabs on the bottom are evenly spaced on the left and right. I found that turning the credit cards sideways made full contact with the release tabs and with some gentle persuading the clock comes right out. Insert the new bulb and after darkness falls I will now be able to see what time it is. It helped to release the lock release button so I could pry from the right and pull from the left. The lock release button will just pop off when gently pried from the left side. Be Safe, Mark V.
PS it appears that my pictures are too large so for now just the text will have to do. I will have to read up on the picture upload thing.

I believe that it is the same for a DII.

Try using a small flat head screwdiver instead of a credit card.
