The guy I bought my discovery from said he had a spare key but left it at home and would mail it to me. Well it's been several months now and I doubt he's going to send it. Would it be possible to get another key cut or do I need one from the dealership with a chip? '99 DII.

 

Are you talking about the Rover key that looks like a lug nut? Do you also have them on your wheels?

 

I got my spare key cut at my local ACE hardware store for a couple of bucks....

I had a key cut (without the alarm remote) to keep in my wetsuit and it works fine, just check before you drive away from the store that it lock/unlocks.

If you want a second key, buy from above link, if you just need a spare, go cheap brass. such as ilco.
