Default dII uh, fart?

Ok, when i turn the ignition on my 04 there is a slightly strange fart sound that comes from something under the dash. Is the brake pedal being released?

Its most loud (ish) in the morning.

I'm sure this post will get many jokes and whatnot, and i welcome all of them

and maybe knowing that someone else's disco likes beans and hot dogs

thanks
jason

Does the engine have to be running for it to do it?

Talking does it smell?

Is it the same sound you hear when the TC is engaged?

And...does it smell?

i actually know exactly the sound you are talking about. my 04 does this as well. i dont even notice it anymore but it has done it since the day i bought it. never caused a issue and i doubt you will ever have one.

I blame Tata's purchase of Land Rover.
Indian food is never good for a stomach that is used to crumpets and tea.

I remember mine used to make that same ratcheting noise like ABS or TC on cold starts. I can't remember hearing it recently though, but it could be making the same noise every morning and I have just completely tuned it out. I'll try to remember to listen tomorrow.

I've had the same sound almost like something is disengaging. No lights or weird sounds other than that though.

Mine does that too. I always assumed it happened when the brake pedal gets power on start up....and as mwindth pointed out it you'll probably hear the same noise if the ABS or traction control engages so you'll hear it when using the HDC as well.
