Default Which direction does the crankshaft turn?

Looking at the front of the engine does the crankshaft turn clockwise or counterclockwise?

That may be, but jet engines are not internal combustion engines.
Gas and diesel engines are.
There are a few super high performance race engines that run counter clockwise, but they are rare and we will never work on them.

actually, jet engines are a class of internal combustion engines. If combustion takes place outside the engine it's an external combustion engine like a steam engine.

That may be so but you have to admit that 99% of people think of a car engine when you say internal combustion engine.

Thx guys the reason I asked was that I was going to use the starter motor to remove my crankshaft pulley nut but I got it off a different way.
