Default Disco 1 Front End Popping

I just noticed a day or so ago that my 98 Discovery is making a popping sound in the front from 5mph up to about 45mph. It doesn't always do it and it sounds like a rotational sound. It gets more frequent the fast I go. There is also no shimmy or any noticeable difference in the way it drives. I'm new to 4 wheel drive and Land Rovers so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Stop driving it until you can get a good diagnosis, unless you are trying to totally destroy whatever is popping then you can just replace everything associated with whatever gets wiped out.

The first thing I would do is chock the rear wheels, put the front end on jack stands, put it in neutral and rotate the front wheels by hand to see if I could hear the sound.

"DITTO"!
Does it happen when driving straight or when you are turning.
The possible problems could be a blown diff, spider gears, C/V joint or axle.
That being said, you should tow it to where ever you use except the dealer and have it inspected. Get back to us with the problem and estimate.

Yeah, I'm going to jack up the front end and see if i can hear the noise. It does it when going straight mostly and seems to do it when coasting or under very slight acceleration. If I have time tonight I will jack it up and see what I can hear. Ill let you guys know.
