Disco 2 ...A feel good story
We get alot of problem post on here about our Discos ....thought I would share a success story. I made the leap of faith and loaded up the Disco for our annual vacation to Fla. Ill admit I was a bit reluctant to trust it but I felt like I had done everything I could to make sure the truck was ready for long trips. I knew I had addressed possible issues with the help of this forum . Im happy to report that we made the trek from Atlanta to the Fla coast without issue. The coolant temp held steady at 183 + or - 4 deg so Im REAL pleased with the inline tstat. No 3 amigos since the option B. No worries about the front shaft with the new serviceable shaft in place. Anyway just felt like posting a success story . I did have a backup transportation plan as you can see....lol.

I need to get me a motorcycle rack! It would be nice to have that spare mode of transportation, plus, where I’m going I can actually ride the bike some while I’m there.

I have noticed a lot of people seem to over-worry about the reliability thing. Once you get your 60k service done and your motor is squared away there is no reason to sweat a little 3 hr drive. I think all the problems we see on this forum gives the impression that these rigs are delicate little flowers.
I drive mine like I stole it. My daughters are absolutely psycho drivers and they run between Denver and home (10 hr drive) on a regular basis with little or no thought put into it other than check the oil and coolant and tire pressure. I repair their rigs all the time but that is from banging stuff up on mountain trails. Throw in a basic tool set and a spare belt and go see the world.
