Default Disco 2 leaks

Hi everyone! So I recently bought a 2001 td5 disco and it has a few oil leaks… I know very odd right…Anyway could someone tell me should i be concerned or is it just part of owning one of these beasts. Previous owner told me he didn’t need to fill the oil between services and that it should be alright to drive without a worry. Let me know what you think! Thank you!

It's British. It will always leak oil. You may be able to slow the leaks, but you'll never stop them.

Unless the oil leaks are bad I would ignore them. Coolant leaks you want to deal with fairly quickly.

I have worked around light trucks and heavy trucks. All trucks leak, our shop practice for oil leaks was take it for a long drive and really get it warm, is the oil leaking out enough to start blowing back on others parts of the truck behind the leak. You can also look at the back of the car, when in motion there is a vacuum back there and oil will get sucked up onto the bumper and its is easily seen. If you can see it or it starts accumulating on the items under the vehicle then you have a leak worth fixing.
