Just bought another project D2 and have begun piecing it back together. It needs new front seat leather, which I haven’t been able to source anywhere. It is an ‘03 SE with Alpaca leather, perforated with black piping. I’ve found a good looking set of full seats online from an ‘00 D2. Is there any difference in the seats across all year D2’s? Want to confirm they will bolt right in and match my backseat leather.
Also need to replace the right front fender. Any difference in body panels across all year D2’s?
The Alpaca is a different shade beginning in 03, not a perfect match. The front fenders are different beginning in 03, as of course is the headlights, grill, bumpers.
Try carparts.com for the seats. Probably much cheaper if you ask them only for the lower cushion.
You could try roverguy.com out of Virginia. I’ve had great service from him.
Will at rover guy is great. he's a little slow sometimes but usually has what you need. passenger side cushion fit the same, so get two passenger side if you can and usually, they will be in better condition.
Thanks for the tip; I emailed Will so I’ll see what he has.
I’ve found a seller of some front seats but he’s unsure what year Disco 2 they came out of. They are long distance, so I can’t confirm the leather is an exact match. Is there some way to ID the year from the seat frames? Any other way to tell??
I purchased the Lseat ones to match my Alpaca interior 2004. My first order came wrong with no black piping. They exchanged for the correct set. My biggest issue (like everyone) was the driver’s lower cushion. I pulled the front seat intending to replace all the leather but ended up doing just the bottom as it matched well enough and I wasn’t interested in tackling the backrest after wresting with the bottom cover.
here is what I ordered:
Lark S0012
Larks stitching
Black Piping
Perforated center section
