Default Disco 2 Snow Performance

This weekend in South Eastern Wisconsin we had our first really good snowstorm of the season. I was super excited to take the truck out as I just had Toyo AT3s in 225/75/R16 installed on Friday. Over Saturday we had about 9 or 10 inches of snow.

Truck handles beautifully in the snow, I was very comfortable driving on roads that hadn't been plowed yet. I even had a special delivery request from my parents, their Furnace thermostat went out Friday night and they asked if I'd pick up a new one for them and bring it over. It felt like a mission from the video game 'SnowRunners' (which is what initially inspired me to become interested in 4x4 vehicles.

I had a huge smile on my face and really love this truck even though I had some frustrations the past few months fixing lots of issues haha.

Positive news instead of another 'how do I fix this' thread lol.

This may be a good time to remind folks to clean the underside of their trucks and use a coating to protect the frame. Something such as PB Blaster surface shield or Waxoyl.

LR frames do not like to road salt.

I have been using FluidFilm which is Lanolin based. it seems to hold up quite well. works good on snowblowers too

Mine has leaked so much oil over its life that my entire frame front to rear has been thoroughly marinated in protection. Which is a relief because they're brutal here in Michigan with the salt.

Was hoping to have some fun in the snow here this week but I have to finish my head gasket job, sigh.

They are great in the snow, especially with good snow tires.
