Disco 2 Trending up.
Not sure if this is a good or bad thing but the resale value of the Discovery is trending up overseas. I figured only a matter of time before the real Land Rovers started becoming collectable. Good news is they may start to hold a little value, bad news is everything will start to become expensive and hard to find.
Not sure how I feel about this. I still use mine as a daily driver, so I of course want to keep the cost of owning one down.

Cost of owning is relative I guess. I still don't feel like I spend a fortune on it but something like a engine is already pricey when compared to an American or Asian vehicle. I would hate to see these things go the way of classic cars where something like a 66 Mustang now grabs thousands of dollars even if its a pile of rusted bolts.
I like that I now can pick up a whole disco to use as spare parts for peanuts.
It has the curse though. It's a good looking iconic body style that they no longer make. On top of that it has the Triumph problem too, they don't make them in jolly ole England anymore so the purist will want the older LRs.
Could be interesting. I was surprised to see the value trending up considering oil prices, but once you step into the collector realm, cost of fuel is a non-issue. You never hear a guy say I really wanted that Cobra, but man the fuel economy was ridiculous. ;-)
