it has about 115,000 miles on it and i used 87 octane. i replaced the wires and i think the plugs are good. it hasnt been on the road for about 2 years. last time it was on the road it blew out both cats in a bout a week after getting them replaced. i dont have the computer codes yet but i have to replace the 100amp alternator fuse which i just saw was blown. it idles fine but when i put it in to gear it starts that annoying studder. i just had the tranny replaced also so i dont know what is left to fix besides the ecu. any thoughts?

Its not the ecu.
First things first, you MUST use premium gas, if you dont you will have severe run issues.
You need to replace your spark plugs and your cap and rotor.
After that you will need to set your ignition timing, I would highly recommend having a shop do that for you.
Once your ignition timing is set I bet she runs like crap because of the 2 year old gas in the gas tank.
With the engine timing off it will back fire really bad and can easily destroy your cats.
